About Me

Hi, my name is AJ Shelton.  I am a first year partner at Tepper Business School at CMU.  I was born and raised in Texas.  When it was time for college I went to Ohio Wesleyan University, which is were I met my husband, Ed.  After I graduated we moved to Connecticut where Ed had a job.  I was very lucky and was able to find a job that combined two of my loves, horseback riding and working with people with disabilities.  I became a certified Therapeutic Horseback Riding Instructor. 

I never thought I would be living in Pittsburgh, PA, but here I am. When Ed decided that he wanted to go to Business School we looked at several different schools, Tepper was the best fit for him, which meant Pittsburgh.  I had hoped to continue my career with Therapeutic Riding, but was unable to find a center.  Finding work has been a challenge for me, but there are jobs out there, you just have to look for them. 

These two years will be a challenge for both Ed and me, but I definitely think Ed going to Tepper was the best decision.  Ed really enjoys school, and I have made some great friends, and we both have really enjoyed living in Pittsburgh.
